Jail time for pastors

Craig HueyReality Alert

Pastor Donald and Evelyn Knapp operate The Hitching Post Wedding Chapel in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

As ordained Foursquare pastors, they have performed more than 34,000 weddings since 1989.

But because the city passed a non-discrimination ordinance, the government has tried forcing the couple to perform same-sex weddings.

Penalty for refusing? 180 days in jail and a $1,000/day fine until they agree to violate their conscious and conduct a same sex wedding.

Believing in God’s word, they reject the idea of a “third way” compromising their biblical worldview and violating their conscience. America, from the times of Jamestown through this century, people have fled here to worship according to their deeply held Christian convictions.

Who elected these city officials?

  • Lots of Christians who voted against their 1st amendment rights and religious liberty.
  • Lots of Christians who didn’t vote.
  • The pastors, church leaders and churches who were silent during the voting and for the passing of the law.

This type of ordinance is spreading nationwide—probably in your city.

And the White House recently signed an Executive Order that is similar and could cause every Christian college to be closed (see The end of Christian colleges in America).

And in Houston because of a similar ordinance, the mayor subpoenas pastors, including their emails, sermons and texts.

So what about your church and pastor?

Jail time?

Or will the church turn from indifference to a voice for sanity?

Will the church stop the attacks on religion, freedom and being viewed by as “haters” to a vibrant church of love and engage in the political world?

How many Christians do you know are not voting in November allowing our freedoms to be destroyed? Allowing officials and judges to transform our society under a government of force.
