Pray for Asia Bibi! (and the Persecuted Pakistani Church)

Christian Persecution is a widespread, worldwide reality.

In Pakistan, it’s especially cruel, where Christians are a heavily persecuted minority.

One Christian woman—Asia Bibi—faces the death penalty.

For what? Nothing more than blasphemy against Islam.

She was charged with this “crime” (heinous offense according to Sharia Law) in 2009, then sentenced to death in 2010.

She has appealed this decision for six years, and her final appeal is next week!

Her home country has one of the worst records on religious liberty, according the U.S. Commission for International Religious Freedom. The Open Doors Watch List has this country listed as the sixth worst in the world for religious liberty.

And Asia’s case is not the only example this kind of moral abusive and judicial tyranny.

Emmanuel and his wife Shagufta Kausar were also charged with blasphemy following alleged text messages they sent from their phones. But both of them are illiterate, and the husband Emmanuel false confessed to the crime because the police were torturing his wife.

Christian Solidarity Worldwide, a Christian charity, is urging all Christians to pray for Asia.

Pray for the deliverance of Asia Bibi, the Kausar family, and all of Pakistan’s Christians!
