The War on Christian Schools Escalates [Video]

Liberals are having a field day turning schools into incubators for the radical left, including:

  • Gender-free bathrooms
  • Extremist sex education
  • Common Core
  • Liberal textbooks
  • Killing school choice
  • Firing and silencing Christian teachers

Indiana’s Lighthouse Christian Academy has become embroiled in this fight after a Massachusetts congresswoman took aim at the students’ code of conduct.

At a hearing with new Education Secretary Betsy DeVos, Democrat Rep. Katherine Clark voiced her displeasure with an agency that refused to strip the school of taxpayer funding.

Why? For embracing a Christian worldview?

At issue: the Academy’s policy that it has the right to refuse a student struggling with same-sex attractions.

DeVos, to her credit, made it clear that the point of a voucher program isn’t to demand conformity on certain values.

“We believe that parents are best equipped to make choices for their children’s schooling and education decisions,” DeVos said. “Too many children today are trapped in schools that don’t work for them.”

What the public may not be aware of is that Lighthouse Academy has not turned away all students struggling with their sexuality.

As the Associated Press reported, alum Mary Wegener, now 24, said some of her classmates at the school were gay and received love and care.

The school’s attorney, Brian Bailey, added that the school did admit some students “tempted by same-sex intimacy … we teach our students to flee these sins.”

Of course, if a Christian school did not hold up its core beliefs, if they instead conformed to a politically correct worldview, then it wouldn’t be much of a Christian school.

No school or district should allow bureaucrats to redefine a Christian school’s  beliefs as a condition of taxpayer funding.

Unfortunately for Rep. Clark, this is exactly the religious test the framers of the Constitution tried to prevent in the First Amendment.

As God’s word tells us in 1 Cor. 6:17-20 …

But whoever is united with the Lord is one with him in spirit. Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body.

Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.

  1. Control Through Vouchers

As the saying goes, “If you take the federal government’s unconstitutional nickel, you accept the federal government’s noose.”

Under ‘establishment’ constitutional-schizophrenic George W. Bush and later his son, the GOP, which once promised to abolish the federal Department of Education, unconstitutionally increased federal involvement and therefor control over the nation’s schools. The scam to entice unsuspecting citizens into accepting increasing federal control over schools, involved schools failing to meet ‘federally defined standards’ would trigger a voucher plan. Students in failing schools would qualify for voucher assistance from federal Title-I funds to enable their parents to enroll them in “higher-performance” government or private schools, or hire tutors.

Foolish citizens not seeing the use of the time old tactic of expanding federal control in the name of real or perceived ‘problem solving’ cast the constitution and the lessons of history aside in exchange for money – ignoring the fact that WHAT THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT UNCONSTITUTIONALLY FUNDS IT WILL CONTROL – INCLUDING THE WHAT INDOCTRINATION ENTERS THE MINDS OF YOUR CHILDREN!

Then President Bush being an ‘establishment-operative’ claiming conservatism and christianity, tactically titled education manifesto titled ‘No Child Left Behind.’ He claimed that under the terms of the plan “Federal requirements do not apply to home schools or private schools,” yet on the very same page it declares: “All non-public providers receiving federal money will be subject to appropriate standards of accountability.” Clearly, any private schools or home schoolers who opt to participate in the voucher scheme would be subject to ever changing levels of unconstitutional federal government control. Making the voucher program a functional ‘voucher-trap.’

A champion of the “choice voucher” con-job was Chester Finn, who was one of the main architects of conservative-impostor President Bush’s plan to unconstitutionally nationalize education using the pretense of ‘problem solving.’ He certainly was aware that vouchers will lead to government control. How do we know? In 1982 Finn wrote the following in the bulletin of the National Association of Secondary School Principals: “Some, to be sure, like to think they can have it both ways; i.e., can obtain aid without saddling themselves with unacceptable forms of regulation. But most acknowledge the general applicability of the old adage that he who pays the piper calls the tune, and are more or less resigned to amalgamating or choosing between assistance and autonomy.”

Like the bible warns about satan (lucifer), vouchers come as “an angle of light” but ultimately turn the minds of our children over to ‘establishment’ Democrat-socialists or ‘establishment’ conservative-impostors infecting the GOP, who have for a century used ‘problem solving’ as a pretense to unconstitutionally concentrated power into federal government where they can’t control it.

Instead of complaining about the federal government manipulation of Christians using vouchers, Christians should repent for having taken the ‘bait’ (money) that had them fall into the voucher-trap, then end there addiction to vouchers. If the pulpits of America would fulfill their obligation to admonish their flock of their obligation to educate their children ONLY according to biblical principals, enough of the 98 million claiming Christ in America would move to pull education of our children back into Church-schools where our children are safe from unconstitutional federal indoctrination programs labeled as ‘education.’

  2. On November 9th, 1998, the constitutional-deconstructionist Supreme Court declined by a vote of eight to one to review a landmark Wisconsin case involving the expenditure of tax dollars on tuition for poor children at private (including religious) schools in Milwaukee. The ruling left intact a state Supreme Court decision that upheld a law providing annual vouchers.

Though the High Court’s action sets no precedent, proponents of federally controlled vouchers promptly declared it a victory. Most news accounts wrongfully framed the issue as ‘battle between advocates of school choice on one side and church-state separation on the other.’ The most telling argument against tax-funded voucher schemes was virtually ignored: federal government control that inevitably accompanies such government assistance.

Earlier in this century, England’s socialist ‘Fabian Society’ (‘Fabian’ socialism being tactically covert socialism) endorsed state-aid to Christian schools. A Fabian board member who resigned in protest was subsequently chastised by Fabian author George Bernard Shaw for failing to recognize that nothing would more quickly destroy such schools than state aid, since their freedom, and eventually their faith, would inevitably be compromised.

Theologian Dr. Rousas J. Rushdoony explains that “to channel statist or taxed income in any way into the hands of Christian or home schools is to surrender their freedom and to exchange it for civil controls.” Adds Rushdoony: “ t is easy to understand the voucher-trap by looking at existing examples of it, such as the welfare system, food stamps, and the like. All have the same premise: in the name of need, freedom and responsibility are surrendered.”
