It’s disturbing that Israel is now under historic attacks … and some of the funding is from the U.S. taxpayers.
Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat is threatening to cut off communications with the Trump peace efforts if their Palestinian office in the U.S. is shut down.
And why would the office be shuttered?
Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has determined that the Palestinians ran afoul of an obscure provision in a U.S. law that says the Palestine Liberation Organization’s mission must close if the Palestinians try to get the International Criminal Court to prosecute Israelis for crimes against Palestinians.
The Palestinians did just that.
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas crossed that line by calling on the ICC to investigate and prosecute Israelis on “war crimes” charges.
Trump now has 90 days to consider whether the Palestinians are in “direct and meaningful negotiations with Israel.” If Trump determines they are, the Palestinians can keep the office.
As always, it’s up to the Palestinians, who don’t necessarily go along with negotiations that would help their cause, including “land for peace” exchanges.
Stirring this volatile mix is the United Nations, which is using American tax dollars to fund a legal war against Israel.
It’s creating an $18 million slush fund for the terrorist-led Palestinian Authority to wage “lawfare” against the Jewish State in global courts.
This is the same U.N. which passed 20 anti-Israel resolutions last year alone.
Since the U.S. funds more than 22% of the U.N.’s annual budget, it’s now a taxpayer-funded jihadist legal war.
The U.S. has demanded previously that the PA stop paying the families of slain or incarcerated terrorists, totaling millions of dollars annually.
Reinforcing the ‘Teachings of Hatred’
It reinforces the “teachings of hatred” that Palestinians cling to and promote.
I remember the last time I was in Israel.
I try to be friendly to everyone.
I was in an elevator with a Palestinian family. We exchanged pleasant hellos and talked about their vacation.
I innocently asked, “What part of Israel are you from?”
The man’s friendly demeanor immediately turned hostile as he replied, “I’m from Palestine! This is not Israel!”
He was emotional, angry and incensed.
Here are three things you should know about the “war against Israel and the Jewish people”:
- Anti-Semitism is on the rise. I find this particularly disturbing as I watch anti-Semitism on the rise … and normalized by the media.
Anti-Semitism is rampant on college campuses among students and professors.
Their Anti-Semitic rants usually take on the form of the global BDS (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions) movement against Israel.
It’s even infiltrating the church under the guise of “social justice” and the lie of “replacement theology,” Christian doctrine which has parallels in Islam. Basically, it replaces Israel as the primary means by which the world is blessed by God.
What does God have to say about blessings coming from Israel?
Genesis 12:3 says:
“I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”
Genesis 12:2 says:
“I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and you will be a blessing to others.”
Genesis 22:18 says:
“And through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed me.”
The Bible is clear that Israel remains the center of the world’s blessings.
- Who will stand up for the truth about Israel and God’s plan for His Chosen People? As hate for Israel and the Jewish people becomes more brazen, I can’t help wondering, “Where are the church leaders?
Do they not understand the importance of Israel to Christians?
Who will speak out against the dishonest media’s reporting on Israel’s relationship with the Palestinians?
- Who will stand up at colleges across America? Who will stand up for the gospel? Who will fight back against the BDS movement that says Israel is the bully and terrorists are just fighting for their land.
