Over 65,000 18 – 25-year-old college students from 1,700 colleges worshiped together, studied God’s word, prayed … and reached out to reach the unreached to start the new year.
The purpose of the event – Passion 2020 – today, “Is you and me saying goodbye to lesser things and saying yes to Jesus, the One whose name is above every name.”
Those attending are seeking “to live in such a way that their journey on earth counts for what is most important in the end.”
Passion Conferences is a Christian organization founded in 1997 by Louie Giglio, pastor of Passion City Church in Atlanta.
The students were encouraged to unleash the power of the Holy Spirit in their lives and go out and change the world by demonstrating the love of Christ and making a difference…
Passion founder Louie Giglio told the students, “How do you know that Jesus rose from the grave? How do you know the truth?”
“You know because you hold a miracle in your hands,” he said. “It’s called the word of God. That’s how you know.”
“But what if you didn’t have the Word of God?” he asked simply, stating that many people and tribes who speak rare languages do not have the Word of God in their native tongue.”
Students raised more than $1.2 million for a Bible translation project.
Pray for these kids that they will stand strong against the culture and political attacks they face on their campuses.
Watch this video of Kristian Stanfill singing “There’s Nothing That Our God Can’t Do” at the Passion 2020 Conference (about 5 ½ minutes).
