My wife and I flew in from Los Angeles to Nashville on Saturday.
We got off the plane and drove to a special Michael W. Smith venue of about 4,000 people.
It was recording with full orchestra and back-up of a new worship album of some of the greatest worship songs of the past couple of decades.
And it was powerful.
One of the great things about Nashville is going to great Christian concerts everywhere.
When I first accepted Christ, I wandered into a tent that had “Maranatha” music, or concert.
It was Christian rock and roll and I had never heard it before.
That was my journey of opening my heart to Christ, accepting his forgiveness and being filled with the Holy Spirit.
In the last decade, the amount of concerts and Christian music has dropped nationwide, especially in Southern California.
But Tennessee and other free states are still vibrant and active.
And this was one of the great examples.
The first song, those who have known the Lord for awhile, will remember. Michael W. Smith had Matt Redman and Amy Grant, and Tauren Wells as guests. It truly was not a concert as much of a worship service driving people to the throne of God, arms lifted high, and tears everywhere.
