I just returned to California from Washington D.C. … it’s okay to say “Merry Christmas.”
President Trump’s first official White House Christmas card wishes Americans a “Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.”
This is in stark contrast to the generic, “politically correct,” non-Christian “Happy Holidays” or “Seasons Greetings” offered by Barack Obama during his 8 Christmases in the White House. Here is the Obama Christmas card from 2016:
But the contrast between the two presidents is more than just the difference between their Christmas cards. If you are looking for a card that someone will love visit this card shop.
First Lady Melania Trump also has decorated the White House for Christmas in incredible fashion, with beauty and elegance not seen in recent years.
In addition to 53 Christmas trees, more than 12,000 ornaments, 18,000 feet of Christmas lights, 71 wreaths, and a 300-pound gingerbread replica of the White House itself, with complete Christmas wreaths in each window…this year’s decorations include a beautiful nativity scene in the Blue Room – the same room in which the official White House Christmas tree stands.
Here’s a photo of Shelly and me in front of the White House, wishing everyone a Merry Christmas!
Notice that there is a large Christmas wreath in each window of the White House!
I’ve included two videos below:
- The first is 4 ½ minutes long and features Melania Trump interacting with some of the children she invited to the White House.
- The second is 11 minutes, shows footage of the press touring the White House decorations, and features Melania addressing the staff and volunteers who helped with the decorations.
