Daring and Dangerous Cave Rescue: How Christ Was Proclaimed in this Miraculous Rescue [Videos]

It was a miracle rescue that no one thought possible…

And very few know about how God used a Christian boy to be His witness.

It took nearly 1,000 rescue experts from 4 different nations … working together around the clock for 18 nail-biting days…

It captured the attention of the entire world…

And now the entire world is thanking the Thai government … 19 experienced cave divers … and God, who many recognize as the real miracle-worker…

On Saturday, June 23rd, 12 Thai soccer players aged 11 through 16 – and their 25-year-old coach – entered Thailand’s longest cave system for a team-building exercise.

They expected to come out of the cave and return to their village by nightfall.

But heavy rains struck the area that afternoon … flooding the cave and trapping the group 1 kilometer below ground level … and a treacherous 2.4 kilometers from the cave entrance.

The cave is an obstacle course of narrow passages filled with stalagmites and stalactites…

When flooded with muddy water, it’s impossible to see them…

It took 10 days to find the group. Until then, no one knew if the boys and their coach were even alive…

Every detail of the rescue operation was carefully planned and practiced in a swimming pool using local village children.

“It was a miracle. It was shocking,” said 14-year-old Adul Sam-on at a press conference after the children were released from a 7-day quarantined hospital stay so they could be checked for infectious diseases.

Adul – raised from the age of 7 in a Christian church by Christian teachers – became the main point of contact with the British cave divers … he was the only member of the group fluent in English.

“This experience has taught me that living carelessly has consequences – good and bad,” Adul added. “From now on I’ll live my life carefully and I’ll live to the fullest.”

Pretty profound and mature for a 14-year-old from a small village in Thailand…

“Thank you so much for all prayers and all the encouragement,” said the mother of one of the boys. “Thank you to God. I’m really thankful that they found my son and all 13 are alive. I’m so happy and so thankful to see my son again. Thank you so much to everyone that has been praying for us and the boys and helping us; thank you.”

The youth group from the church where some of the soccer players attend sang worship songs outside the church as the rescue effort was being planned and prepared.

“We have done something that no one expected that we could complete,” the Thai chief of the rescue operation told reporters. “It was an impossible mission.”

Much of the media ignored the Christians … and the Christian faith of Adul…

The Buddhists tried to take the spotlight…

But the gospel was proclaimed … and millions saw Christ glorified through this miracle.
