Christians and churches should understand and make clear the Biblical position on abortion.

Christians… and the church… must be the unashamed voice and supporter of life over death, of birth over killing of the unborn.

It’s scriptural.

Throughout Scripture, God affirms the value of every human life – including children in the womb.

For example:

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. – Psalms 139:13-16

And…

Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations. – Jeremiah 1:5

These are just a few of the verses that talk about why the church and Christians should be promoting life at conception.

God created life, and it’s been the Christian tradition.

Throughout church history, it was the Christians who rescued babies being aborted.

For example, at the beginning of the church in the Roman Empire, Christians came alongside babies abandoned on the road. This was a form of abortion in those days. The Christians rescued the babies and adopted them.

The culture of the day was shocked… angry. Christians were called “haters” because they were going against and being offensive to the Roman culture.

In today’s culture, there will be a massive divide in opinion – and law. In pro-socialist states like California, New York, Washington, and New Mexico, they will have abortion on demand. In states like Tennessee, Texas, and Florida, life and adoption will be the options.

It is important to know what the church and Christians can do in both types of states.

Here are 6 things every Pastor, church leader, and Christian should know:

#1. Christians and the church must clearly and regularly promote adoption.

Within the church, promote adoption. As an individual Christian, be an advocate.

#2. Promote Pro-Life Clinics.

Mobilize people and the church to participate in a pro-life clinic. There are thousands nationwide.

#3. Have your church sponsor the pro-life clinics.

This is an outreach not only for your church body but for the local community. Provide ultrasounds and find other ways to help girls who are pregnant.

Volunteer to help in these clinics – or be a part of starting one.

#4. Educate the body of Christ so that each member of your congregation knows the issue.

Pastors and church leaders must educate the fellowship. Do not be silent about issues of life and death. Don’t allow the issue to become commonplace.

#5.Mobilize the Body of Christ to vote for life.

Mobilize your fellowship to vote for their biblical values. Pastors and churches must explain why voting for a candidate who is promoting biblical values of life is critical.

And by not voting, you are ignoring the issue and not doing what is right – you are allowing evil to occur.

This includes voting for judges as well as for governors, state legislatures, and Attorneys General. And also at the county level, including district attorneys, school board members, and city leaders.

#6. Have a prayer team – and security team activated.

Prepare for violence against your church and pregnancy centers.

Activate prayer around the church.

And activate a team to protect the church and pro-life clinics from attack.

  1. Best if you can gather up the women that had abortion complications and post their symptoms and stories.

  2. Thank you for the 6 points. With regard to security measures for churches, http://www.PJI.org has a well prepared report on specifically what churches should do to protect themselves from the upcoming expected violence. I HIGHLY recommend it!

  3. We need to strengthen family ties and educate our young people on the God-given blessing of human sexuality. Many of these pregnancies should never have happened in the first place. We also need to crack down on rapists, pedophiles and anyone who does not respect this gift from God.
