The confusing Senate race:
Our recommendations

For the U.S. Senate race, we are recommending Brian Quintana for Democrats and Chuck DeVore for Republicans.

Many Christians have been confused on the Republican side between Carly Fiorina and Chuck DeVore.

The third candidate, Tom Campbell, was opposed to Proposition 8. He is pro-abortion and has pro-Palestinian leanings. He is not a strong candidate when it comes to economic issues of taxes and a free economy.

Carly: She is a strong candidate on all issues we have researched.

Chuck: He is a strong candidate on all issues we have researched.

The big difference is Chuck has a track record and Carly does not.

I do like the fact she could bring private sector experience to Congress. But Chuck has been consistent on the issues for over 20 years. Carly has a political track record of about 12 months.

Further, Chuck has signed the Manhattan Declaration. Carly hasn’t.

In reviewing Carly’s current stand on the issues, she is good. She did support the first bailout—not good—but now opposes it.

And this may reflect my belief that she is not rooted in a consistent political philosophy and worldview. She is right on the issues—but it’s gut level, not deeply principled.

I have no problem enthusiastically supporting Fiorina. But between DeVore and Fiorina, I recommend DeVore.

Here are the endorsements Fiorina has received:

  • California ProLife Council
  • Susan B. Anthony List Candidate Fund
  • California Farm Bureau
  • Sarah Palin

Here are the endorsements DeVore has received:

  • Congressman Dana Rohrabacher
  • Congressman Tom McClintock
  • Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association PAC
  • Huck PAC
  • Frank Pastore

Here are our endorsements:
